Thank you to all the Dads, Grandads, Uncles, Cousins, Mums and friends, who attended our amazing Fathers day service led brilliantly by Class 3. The children performed amazingly from all classes and had some lovely and rather funny things to say about their father figures. I hope you all enjoyed your breakfast, it smelt delightful and what a lovely atmosphere around school at break time.

  • Cricket!

    Published 12/06/18

A Year 5/6 cricket team took part in an ECB tournament at Rolleston Cricket Club on Tuesday afternoon.  An excellent performance in our first match saw the team easily defeat Rykneld, having scored a massive total of 297, then restricting Rykneld to 189 with great bowling and fielding.

It was much closer in our second game, with Anglesey batting well and reaching 267, then fielding well to prevent us beating their total as we managed to get to 240.

Our excellent performance overall saw us progress to the quarter finals (the last 8 from 18 teams) where we were drawn against Williams Shrewsbury.  With a much larger group of students to choose from, they were a very talented team with some quick bowlers and amazing fielders who took a number of spectacular one handed catches.

It was another fabulous afternoon proving that learning isn’t always academic – the teamwork, communication and sports skills were great and, as always, we were proud of our children and grateful to the parents who transported and watched for their support.

Children and teachers met today in order to share the children’s exceptional writing by reading out loud and to discuss the learning process of writing, what is going brilliantly at our school and areas children would like to improve. The plates were full of cakes and biscuits and we had lovely refreshing squash to wash them down. This has formed an excellent pupil voice monitoring session with a cross section of children.

The children have spent the day learning about how social media can impact on peoples' mental health. They have explored this topic through music. They have learnt the words and dance routines to the songs written by Pop UK. They then had the fantastic opportunity to record these songs with a professional sound technician. At the end of their day, the children shared their hard work with parents. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable day and the recorded songs will be available for download after half term.

  • Friendly Football

    Published 19/04/18

A team of Year 6 girls entered a friendly football tournament this week, enjoying a sunny night at William Shrewsbury competing against a range of teams from lots of other schools.  Whilst not all the teams seemed to come with the philosophy of being new to the game and just having fun the footballers from All Saints entered to take part, to challenge themselves and to develop team work, having fun along the way.  Amazing attributes from our oldest children showing just how ready they will be to face the challenges at secondary school and beyond.  Well done girls, as always, you make us proud.
